The new Bavaria Cruiser 40

A milestone in the new Bavaria line, marked by strong design and extensive stability of the construction.

Let me put it this way: in today’s yachting business and for boatyards in general, 40-foot yachts are among the most important yacht sizes. In this field there’s a lot of competition. But with this Cruiser 40 Boatyard Solutions have underlined their special competence in managing such projects – and like this they’ve outsailed almost everybody else.

Although this ship is a completely new construction it still fits harmoneously into the logical line of yachts of the Bavaria Yachtbau boatyard. The whole project worked out pretty quickly: from the first sketches of construction ideas to the readiness to go into production only seven months passed. Such a thing can only happen if the distribution of tasks and the communication among all participants function smoothly.

Given the leadership of the project I took control of the planning and coordination of our cooperation with the engineers and developers in the US. The design and construction of the hull line came from Farr Yacht Design – one of the world’s leading naval architects – whereas the exterior design was developed by BMW Group Designworks USA. One of my most important tasks was once again the production optimization. From the first construction phases on this means taking care that the later series production can work swiftly and price efficiently – e.g. by using tried and tested components – whilst securing a high processing quality at the same time.

The Cruiser 40 has more than 40 pleasant, modernly designed lines. They demonstrate a lot of dedication to construction and clever details. Like this the new boat has become a great and highly comfortable yacht for cruising as well as with enough potential performance for club racing and it comes at an incredible price-performance ratio.

Those who wanted to have a closer look at her could visit us at the “Amsterdam in-water-Boat Show 2010 (HISWA) that is on till 5th September.

Noteworthy: the steep stem at the bow – anchored the big cockpit invites you for sunbathing.
